November News!
Hello friends! I’ve been away from here for far too long! I have a few updates to share.
The first thing I’d like to share with you all is the Rough Around the Edges cowl, which was recently released on Ravelry using our Wayfarer yarn. Independent designer, Marie Segares, designed this simple infinity scarf with two of my favorite colors of Wayfarer. The stitch pattern she used creates a light texture and slightly angled edge. Crochet it in one color if you wish, or change colors in the middle for visual interest as Marie did. This circle scarf has a wonderful drape and can be worn as a single loop, or wrapped double around your neck for extra warmth.
Secondly, it’s been too many Wednesdays since I’ve been able to update you on the progress of the cozy sweater in American Lamb I’ve been knitting. I’m currently working on hip shaping, and expect to be at the hem shortly. I ran into one snag along thw way, though. Do me a favor, learn from my, and many knitters before me’s mistake. Check your dye-lots! The one time in my knitting life I didn’t check that my dye-lots matched, is the one time it is noticeable on a large piece. You may not notice it in this photo, but believe me, it’s there. The skein I’m currently knitting with is about one shade lighter than the rest of the sweater. I will push-on, and continue to knit. I’ve decided to try my hand at dyeing, by over-dyeing this after it is complete. I’ll be sure to post my before and after shots for you.
And lastly, in case you weren’t aware, Made in America Yarns is now offering trunk shows to our local yarn shops! Our first one is currently going on at Stash, in Havertown, PA until November 23rd. Jo Ann has every color of Wayfarer and American Lamb in stock, many colors of Florafil, and approximately 20 sample garments on display at the shop right now. If you happen to be somewhat local to Philadelphia, or Havertown, make sure to take a trip over to this lovely shop.
Until next time! Happy Crafting!
