Happy Friday! New Pattern, and Mill Ends!

Posted on Sep 26, 2014 in Newsletter

Happy Friday, everyone!  It has been a busy week here at Made in America Yarns. As such, I don’t have much progress to report for my Downeast sweater, since I haven’t knitted on it much. Know that I am officially past the raglan increases, and am now currently knitting the body of the sweater.  Soon, my pretty, soon.

I do have news, though! We added a few more Mill Ends from our producer, Huntingdon Yarn Mill, including a new color (Pearl) of their popular Duo-Tone Rayon.  The Cotton Rayon Boucle we added in Ocean Breeze is wonderful.  It would make a very interestingly textured knitted garment, but is also excellent for weaving.  And last but not least, there’s a blue, pink, and black  space-dyed Seed yarn.  This yarn, while perfect for weaving, also works really well as a carry-along yarn for knitting.

Also, after too long of a delay, our newest pattern, Concrete, by Nicole Feller-Johnson has been released.  It can be found both on our website in Our Patterns, and on Ravelry as a free download.

Concrete is a vest for the urban explorer, inspired by the architecture and gridlines of Philadelphia. Worked from the back center out, with folded hemmed lapels for extra warmth and thickness, and finished with a raw rolled edge, this simple rectangle creates dynamic front points and can be worn open or pinned with crossover styling. Made in America Yarns American Lamb adds just the right weight and depth to this softly structured piece!

Have a great weekend. Happy Knitting!
