Kate –
Is this suitable for machine knitting and what is the recommended number of stitches per inch on what size needle please?

I thought this was a 2-ply yarn based on the description, but what I received was a single.
I can use it, I am a spinner and I will ply it into a two-ply yarn. But I was disappointed.
MiAY (store manager) –
Hello Brenda,
Sorry you are disappointed with your purchase – we are also glad you are going to use it for spinning!
We just wanted to let you know that this alpaca yarn is very strong and it currently is being used by many of our weavers and the knitters the way it is and the result seems to be satisfactory 🙂
Brenda E Fish –
Now the description of the yarn says 3-ply. It may be equivalent to a 3-ply yarn weight, but it is one end, a singles yarn. As an unbalanced singles yarn, it will bias when using it to knit. whether by hand or on the machine. I used it on my circular sock machine and there is a definite bias.
