New Fingering Weight Wool – Wayfarer

Posted on Dec 3, 2013 in Newsletter

We’re excited to introduce our newest yarn line, Wayfarer. It is a pure, 100% fingering weight wool that is twisted and dyed here in Philadelphia at our mill and the wool is sourced domestically. This 8 ply yarn is lovely to work with and we can’t wait to share what our sample knitters are making with their yarn in the upcoming months!

We’re starting out with 14 beautiful colors – Coral Reef, Cranberry Harvest, Camp Fire, Prairie, Meadow, Pine Forest, Harbor, Hot Spring, Hiking Trail, Iron Bridge, Gravel, Mud Puddle, Sand Dune, and Natural.

This yarn is perfect for Fair Isle designs, cables and lace work. Wayfarer is pure wool which means it still has all of it’s fullness so it will hold up great in steeks.
382 yards is enough yardage for a nice shawlette, a pair of average socks, and dozens of other projects.
Check out this stitch definition on these cables and lace!

Winter Knit-A-Long with Terrific Prizes!

The  Thrummed Earflap Hat KAL (knit-a-long) in our Ravelry group is underway! Join us in our fleecing adventure and win prizes just for participating through January 1st.
The hat calls for a skein of bulky wool, and our American Lamb fits the bill perfectly! You’ll also need one ounce of roving (easy to find at most local yarn shops or online on sites like etsy).
The full details and rules are in the forum, and shop owners are welcome to participate!

New Closeouts: Bulky Chenille, 6 lb + Mystery Boxes, & 8/2 Cotton

The closeouts section has had some new items added straight off of the production line and other oldies but goodies that we know you’ll love.
The Six Pound Plus Mystery boxes are up for a limited time. These boxes feature single sampling cones from our mill floor that we created for our special clients in the fashion and home furnishing industries. You could get any style or material from our high-end novelty yarn production. These boxes are lots of fun for free-form projects, Saori, and weaving.
As always, we refund you any overage on shipping that is over a dollar.

Keep an eye out for a giveaway and review of our yarn on Wendy Knits!

Happy Making,
Beck
