Ice Cream Month and a Book Review

Posted on Jul 25, 2013 in Newsletter

We have to share one of our most recent book purchases to crochet from, Twinkie Chan’s Crochet Goodies. After seeing a hilarious layer-cake tissue box cozy worked up out of our metallic we knew we needed this book to crochet up more projects in our bulky weight yarns.

mmmm, pie.

Here’s the same style tissue box in the blueberry pie version. You can purchase this pattern from Twinkie Chan’s etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TwinkieChan

We were not disappointed with the kindle edition at all.
It’s chock-full of amusing ideas all crochet in larger weight yarns. The book features carbo-loaded scarves made from cupcakes, ice cream cones, candy buttons, and pizza. The instructions are written out in a way any new crocheter can easily tackle. There’s even healthy food options like a radish or salad scarf as well!

Ice cream hair spoiler. You still have time to work this or the ice cream scarf from her book for National Ice Cream Month.

Often times crochet gets the short end of the stick, but who wouldn’t love chaining one of these up for a teenager or food lover?

You can read more about Twinkie Chan and her designs on her blog.

Happy crafting,

Beck
