Local Shop Initiative Update, New Florafil Color & More!

Posted on Dec 12, 2013 in Newsletter

Brrr. It is getting cold out there which means it is perfect weather for wearing hand-knits!

Our Earflap Hat knit-a-long is going strong and the first 2 finished objects have appeared in the group! Beck’s finished hat (shown at bottom) out of our American Lamb bulky wool which has gotten plenty of use with the wintry weather here in Philadelphia.

Local Shop Initiative

You will notice that we have removed the ability to purchase our retail lines online. Why?
With more and more yarn shops closing each month, we think it’s important to give shops our full support. We love local yarn shops — all the experiences, instruction, and events they provide are invaluable. Where else can you go and be surrounded by beautiful yarns, see a variety of patterns, find new ideas, and share a coffee or chocolate with new crafters? There are few places that are this special.

We understand not everyone lives near a yarn shop or can get to one, so please check our shop listings or call your nearest LYS. Many shops can and will ship to you directly!

New Florafil Baby Color

Our Florafil with the rainbow seed wrap is now available in White Lily! The crisp white shows off the rainbow seeds without being overwhelmed with color.
It will make some very lovely baby projects!

Wayfarer

Wendy Johnson, of Wendy Knits, has a review of our new Wayfarer yarn on her blog! She is also giving away a skein of Wayfarer for a lucky knitter in a color of their choice.
Head on over and leave a comment for the giveaway.

Our sample knitters are making progress on their work as well! There’s a pair of fresh green socks in the mail to us and more projects in progress on Ravelry.
Look at these beautiful, retro mitts Lisa is making for us! The pattern is Bunty Mitts by Ella Austin and the colors used in Lisa’s mitts are Pine Forest, Camp Fire, and Natural.

New Website Feature for Closeouts

We’ve upgraded our site to allow you to choose the put-up of your yarn! We can rewind to skein or cone easily here for fifty cents per item. We can fit up to 2 lbs for most yarn per cone.
This isn’t available for all of our yarn, some of our yarn (like metallic) needs to be on cone or spool to avoid serious tangling.

Home for the Holidays

Made in America Yarns and Huntingdon Yarn Mill will be closed from December 21st through January 5th for the holidays so please plan ahead with any orders you may have been thinking about.

We wish everyone happy holidays!
